Why Source Overseas?

It is becoming more and more important for businesses to keep costs low, especially in our fragile economy. Many overseas countries offer a lower cost of living, and subsequently, lower labor costs. As a result, it can be significantly cheaper to source information packaging products overseas, in countries like China. U.S. buyers can expect to save at least 25% off of domestic prices, sometimes up to 50%.

But is the quality good? Despite the lower cost of living, countries like China have an incredible work ethic. Work ethic, coupled with a relatively high manufacturing technology and acumen, give China high marks in quality. Of course, you need to use the right factories. There are many, many stories of buyers getting burned because they didn’t investigate the right sourcing company to work with. Or, they skipped that step altogether and tried to source direct, from a factory they didn’t know. Big mistake! That is where a company like ours can be of great value.

Need a great zippered ringfolio with gusseted and stitched pockets? We would send that to our factory in Shenzhen. Need turned edge ring binders and have the time to wait for 60-90 days? We would pick our factory in Dongguan. Do yourself a favor, and make sure you pick a sourcing partner that has experience AND expertise with the products you need.

Don’t get me wrong, we love domestic manufacturing. The vast majority of our business is domestically manufactured products that can be made and shipped within 2-3 weeks. However, when time is not a limitation, and you really need to your bottom line in check, sourcing overseas makes a lot of sense.
