New generation specialty folder-gluers
Paperboard Packaging

Alliance Machine Systems International, LLC recently rolled out its latest generation of I-Series, J&L specialty folder-gluers. With machine widths ranging from 2 to 4.3 meters, the J&L provides a broad product range. The models include: the 200i, 290i, 330i, 390i and 430i. Box makers are looking for machinery that produces top quality boxes at the fastest speeds possible with a minimum of setup time. Beyond that, ease of maintenance and the lifetime cost of ownership are now key elements in the machinery selection process. The core philosophy behind the design of the J&L has always been to balance the advantages of automation with the real-world need for simplicity. As with its predecessors, these new folder-gluers will handle blanks that range from 18-point boxboard through triplewall corrugated. The larger machines run the same minimums as their smaller counterparts. The new features are available on all models. In this generation, Alliance unveils its servo-synchronized transfer (SST) technology that enhances blank transfer between the feeder and the main machine modules to further ensure a precise and square transfer of blanks. The SST also optimizes the distance between blanks allowing higher output at lower machine speeds. The backfold modules have been redesigned for faster, more precise control allowing operation with a minimal distance between blanks, enhancing throughput of trays. The operator interface and machine diagnostics are user-friendly. Help and diagnostic screens are operator accessible and intuitive. The modem allows complete troubleshooting and remote diagnostic access. In most cases, this dramatically reduces downtime and eliminates the need for a service visit. The savings over the life of a machine are substantial.
