Inkjet inks, paper and profiles
Pantone has entered the inkjet market with its ColorVantage family of inkjet products consisting of pigment-based inks, papers and specially developed profiles, all optimized to work together. The inks, individually created for the unique characteristics of each supported printer model, are said to have a larger color gamut than standard OEM inks and reportedly offer richer, deeper, more saturated hues. ColorVantage inks are also said to dry more quickly than OEM wide-format printer inks, have increased lightfastness and be less prone to color shifts over time. Pantone ColorVantage inks are available in CMYK, plus light cyan and light magenta as options.
Pantone ColorVantage papers provide the best white point and most accurate reproduction when used with Pantone ColorVantage inks. The paper is available in a variety of finishes, including high-gloss photo, semi-matte proofing, matte and fine art.
Included in the ColorVantage Starter Kit are Pantone-developed custom printer profiles. Printer profile updates will be available at pantoneinkjet.com.
The Pantone ColorVantage set is initially available for Epson piezo printers, including the Stylus Pro and Stylus Photo models. Pantone plans to support other printer technologies over time.
