High-impact high-graphics: dynamic dies creates a high-graphics promotional piece that doubles as a resource CD
Paperboard Packaging
Dynamic Dies is working with Archbold Container to produce a unique promotional piece showcasing the company's ability to effectively predict color through color management.
Most of the prepress work for corrugated converting has been dominated by solid print jobs with basic screens.
Dynamic Dies, Inc. is currently promoting a unique coaster set that was created for SuperCorrExpo. The diecut, printed design exemplifies the broad capabilities of Dynamic Dies, Inc., says Market Development Manager Tom Pohlman.
From structural design to die engineering on through graphic presentation, this color managed project satisfied the team's objective: to present a piece that was not only marketable but productive.
The structural design was printed on a Archbold Container's 66 by 110 Martin DRO press, five to eight colors. The piece was diecut on a Bobst SPO 160 by Archbold with Zeres, Inc. as the ink supplier. The box was color managed as a duotone of pantone 2738 and process black, while the individual coasters are CMYK. The converting equipment was fingerprinted, the results analyzed and profiles were created to achieve the film separations and contract proof.
The objective was to have a color match between the monitor, proof, and press sheet, Pohlman says.
